Heirs to History

The history of Heladipe, as this ancient Isle (now called Ceylon). was then known, can be traced back nearly 2,000 years before the Christian era. Through ancient records and ballads we find that this island was ruled by an emperor named Ravana.

               From the Rajavaliya, an ancient manuscript, we infer that a great civilization flourished in the land. Tradition says that Ravana lived In a palace of nine hundred rooms with doors of shining gold and he had twenty five palaces or holiday homes in various parts of his empire which he visited is his flying ship or Dandumonara.
