Wings

Several books dealing with birds of Sri Lanka have been published in recent times, and most of them were illustrated with striking, realistic photographs. "Wings" is however a landmark volume with a more modest approach to our feathered friends.

                       It is unique in that it depicts sixty paintings of birds done in oil on canvas, by two teenage brothers. Their efforts have not been directed towards representing birds as they are, but towards creating impressions that reflect their own interpretations of what they have seen.
