Hello!
    I,  Aanya Shaheni Ganemulla, am delighted to present to you my 2nd book of poetry “Fantastic Folks.”  This book includes 20 poems based on various personalities, out of which 4 have been presented in both English and French with the hope of sparking the interest of young French-lovers such as myself.
    I hope that the excitingly unique characters ranging from Nerdy Naru to Ambitious Aasha will help young readers to realize that the existence of each and every unique individual makes life brighter and so much more meaningful!
Growing up, I was greatly inspired by authors such as Roald Dahl, David Walliams as well as Enid Blyton and L. M Montgomery. This paved the way towards my 1st publication: a book of poetry named  “Wandering Thoughts” at 13 years old.
    Now, at 19 years of age, I wish to let young readers know that they can make a world of a difference just by letting their authentic-selves shine through, and I hope that they may enjoy getting a glimpse into the lives of the“Fantastic Folks” explored in this book as much as I did creating them.

After having written an introduction to Ajantha Seneviratne's first novel in English, "Father For A Buddha"  which appeared in the Sri Lankan literary scene just two years ago,  I feel privileged to write a blurb for his first English poetry collection as well. I am abundantly thankful to  Ajantha  for the invitation, but I owe him a fitting apology for not discussing  the contents of this rare gem of poetical beauty which I immensely enjoyed at the manuscript stage.,,Writing in English, be it fiction or poetry,  in a tiny island in the Indian sub-continent, as ours is challenging indeed, especially when one considers how tedious it is, to cross the domestic  frontiers to  reach the wider world.
